A friend of mine had recently facilitated the relocation of his fiancé to join him from abroad. As we drove away from the coach station headed to their home, he suddenly reminded me that we had spoken about this very moment almost a year prior. Without thinking, the words “sometimes words and positive confessions become a person” rolled out of my mouth. I went away and was embroiled in deep reflection on those words.
Have you ever had that moment where you suddenly realise that the life you’re living today was once just a distant dream, a heartfelt prayer, or even a prophecy spoken over you? There’s no greater feeling than realising that you’re now living the dreams, prayers, and promises of your past. It’s as if all those hopes you held onto, sometimes in the face of doubt, have finally taken root and blossomed into reality.
This kind of realisation brings a deep sense of joy and gratitude. It reminds us that our journey, with all its twists and turns, has a purpose. Every step we took—whether in faith, determination, or even uncertainty—was leading us to this very moment.
But what about those who are still in the midst of the struggle? Maybe you’re still waiting for your dreams to come true, still praying for a breakthrough, or still holding onto promises that seem far from fulfilled. If that’s where you find yourself today, I want to offer a word of encouragement.
In the Bible, Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Sometimes, the waiting season feels endless, and it’s easy to lose hope when the outcome seems uncertain. But remember that every season of waiting has a purpose, and every moment of perseverance brings you one step closer to seeing your dreams fulfilled.
Hold on to the faith that what you’re sowing now—through your prayers, your hard work, your resilience—will eventually bear fruit. It may not happen overnight, and it may not unfold exactly as you envisioned, but in God’s perfect timing, you will see the harvest.
So, if you’re feeling discouraged today, know that the dreams of your yesteryears can become the realities of your tomorrow. Keep going, keep believing, and keep trusting that God is faithful to complete the good work He’s begun in you. One day, you’ll look back and realise that everything you’ve been through has prepared you for the life you’re now living.
Let this be a reminder that the seeds of today are the harvest of tomorrow, and every prayer you pray, every step you take in faith, is building towards a future where you, too, will live out the desires, prayers, and prophesies of your yesteryears.
